I hate that there is one generic category for" Latin American", and that some Mexican places are lumped in despite there being a Mexican category. Anyway, it was difficult because of this category being lumped together, but in the end I give it to Mach Picchu. Here, you can eat healthy or indulge, cheap eats or elegant multi courses. Ceviche, causal limena, papas rellenas, chicharrones, arroz chaufa, I could go on all day. And the cocktails! Pisco Sour is the national cocktail of Peru and they make it wonderfully here. Despite it not being a Cuban/Puerto Rican place, they make the very best traditional mojito in the Boston... and believe me, I know...I test them out everywhere!
Vote: Latin American
Truly, I think Yankee Lobster has the best chowder overall and I have no idea why it's not nominated, but for fine dining, Union has the best - everything I'm looking for in a chowder. It's an insult for Union (and most of the other nominees) to be behind Legal for chowder. Legal's is fine, but not great.
Really good roll. Honestly, it's a tragedy that they're not nominated for their chowder, which is even better... and makes Legal's taste like a bowl of bland slop. If you want a little slice of heaven, go with a friend and share a roll, a chowder, and a lobster bisque. Amazing!
