Nominated for: BEST Fresh Produce
Tony and Olgo Russo's grandfather started the family business on farmland in Watertown just a couple of miles away from the present store: near the Rosary Academy on Lexington Street. "We stayed there until we moved in here around 1990", Tony says. "Our grandfather farmed the small farm he had there on Lexington Street until the mid-fifties. We mostly grew tomatoes, lettuce and beans."
If you can fight the crowds and the parking lot, it's worth the trip.

Every Tuesday afternoon, they set up a stand in the East Campus courtyard at MIT. It's pretty fantastic.

Russo's gives you the best reason to skip the produce section at the big chain supermarkets in value and selection. From everyday fruits & veggies to hard to find produce and herbs for food lovers and cooks, Russo's is the ONLY place to shop.

An amazing selection and unique experience compared to anything in the area. I've never seen so many kinds of Bok Choy. I wish they had more locations!
