This Summer the Roslindale Farmers Market enters its 28th season by cutting the ribbon in Adams Park in the center of Roslindale Village. The market, sponsored by Roslindale Village Main Street will be held every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM June 1 through Thanksgiving. This year's market features 12 farms providing locally grown fruits, vegetables, produce, herbs, flowers, meats, cheeses, maple syrup, and more: Additionally, there will be at least 30 specialty food and product vendors over the course of the year offering hot sauces, baked goods, roasted nuts, honey, salsa, as well as hand crafts, photography and original art. Cultural entertainment and children's activities are planned for every Saturday throughout the season. EBT and SNAP will be accepted at the market which has doubled the number of vendors this year and provides a unique shopping and entertainment experience in the center of Roslindale Village. Gotta check out not only the market itself, but the fresh meats (Tony's Market) , fish (Roslindale Fish Store), Mexican specialties (El Chavo), Greek Pastries (Vouros), Romano's tacos & even Harrison's Refrigeration and SO MANY other items available at the local stores bordering the market. With the ONE STEP program, the stores are offering wonderful discounts on Market days!

You can happily spend your whole Saturday morning here. The vendors are fantastic and friendly, there's entertainment, and it's a great place to socialize with your neighbors. This market is what Roslindale in the summer is all about.

Seriously. Location, vendors, vibe, time - the Rozzie market is the best. I'd trudge across the city for it if I wasn't lucky enough to live a couple of blocks away. I love that they tie in local businesses (the awesome fish market across the street, for example) and they have a program that lets you use EBT (aka food stamps) to purchase from any food vendor.
