The Coolidge Corner Theatre, one of Brookline's treasured landmarks, is a fully-restored Art Deco movie palace. Showing movies the way they were meant to be seen since 1933, the Coolidge offers comfort, beauty and the chance to experience the best film and video programming around - from hot independents to classic revivals, to extraordinary selections of world cinema. As a not-for-profit arts institution, the Coolidge features first run arthouse films, including independent films, international cinema, and documentaries. We also do frequent revival series of cinema classics, midnight movies, and family and senior film programs.
About five years ago I went to a special screening of 'The Departed' at the CC Theater. After the show, Martin Scorsese showed up and spoke about the movie for an hour. I've never watched films the same way again.
