Located across from an easy-to-spot Staples, Planet Records, formerly of Kenmore Square, has been active for 28 years. Planet is the area’s most important stop for used CD collectors, but carries a well-curated vinyl department as well. Particularly of note for fans of jazz, classical, and Americana (blues, folk, etc.), but with no one particular specialty, the highly organized inventory and obsessive concern for condition make Planet the best place for casual browsers and discerning audiophiles both.
