Kieran Jordan brings an original voice to the teaching, choreography, and performance of Irish dance. Her classes are non-competitive, with a focus on embodied technique, musicality, and performing skills, as well as Irish dance history and community traditions. Kieran earned her TCRG (Irish dance teacher certification) from An Coímísíun le Ríncí Gaelacha in 2002. In 2005, she completed a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Dance at University of Limerick, Ireland. With a wide-ranging background in both traditional and modern dance, she brings a holistic, enthusiastic approach to her teaching. Kieran is Boston’s only teacher of Sean-nós (old-style) Irish dance, and one of few Americans performing in this improvised style. Winner of an Artist Fellowship and a Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Kieran teaches weekly classes at Boston Percussive Dance and offers workshops worldwide.
