There's not many other places in the city where you can wander around a green space for hours. The trails have different personalities depending on the time of day, and if you hike (used loosely) to the top of Peter's Hill, you'll have a pretty sweet view of the Boston skyline right over the trees.

Best time to go is as at first bloom. Timing is a bit difficult, but if you can get there when the flowers begin their show, it's quite a sight. The Larz Anderson Bonsai Garden should also not be missed.
